Volunteer

Becoming an AWARE volunteer is a great way to make a contribution to ending violence in our community! Our volunteers help in many ways. You can:

  • Sanitize frequently touched surfaces

  • Cook a meal for women and children in shelter

  • Clean and organize in AWARE’s facility

  • Shred paperwork

  • Assist with seasonal yard upkeep and gardening

  • Shop for weekly groceries and shelter supplies

  • Take weekly recycling from shelter to recycling center

  • Help with administrative projects or special events as needed

  • Provide professional civil legal assistance during monthly Alaska Legal Services clinic

  • Volunteer with Girls on the Run as a Coach, Running Buddy, SoleMate, or 5K Volunteer (GOTR will be held virtually this year)

  • Volunteer with Boys Run: I Toow ú klatseen as a Coach

**Volunteers are required to wear masks at all times while on AWARE property, if you do not have a mask one will be provided for you.
